I know this is just another typical photograph of the Painted Hills, but my son and I enjoyed going there for the first time. Thanks for the advice about staying at the Oregon Hotel in Mitchell.
That Oregon Hotel will soon be known as the photographers Hotel. This shot showcases everything there is to love about the main formations. Nice perspective here, Richard.
One of my favorites I have ever seen from the painted hills. Excellent theme and repetition. Nice work with the color, it's not over saturated like so many from here.
I have a similar comp that I shot at 200mm with my 80-200. I wish I had the extra reach when photographed it. It makes for a nice repeating effect as Andy said. I think it's Excellent!
This is nice, Richard - not at all "pedestrian" in looking like the usual shots of the Painted Hills. I like the degree of saturation - powerful and the reds are a real focal point for the image. The light areas in the extreme lower right corner are a little distracting, and maybe could be burned a bit to de-emphasize them.
