Mono Lake, Twilight Storm
The first wave of a strong cold front decends on Mono Lake at 7am, February 12.

Darker, more contrasty version for comparison.

Subtle difference, but I prefer the second version. Both are wonderful and ethereal images, the cloud really suites the scene. Very enjoyable image Marc!

I prefer B & W images that are contrasty, more like the old masters. Very nice image.

Another vote for #2. Perfect subject for B&W particularly with that sky.

#2 for me - very nice.

Both are excellent but I'll have to place my vot for #2 also.

2 is the better of the two, but I'd personally like to see it even darker.

I dont really like shots of this place, at least anything I've seen so far...with one exception, and that is your version #2 here. Nice shot Marc.

Nice, Marc! Obviously, the clouds are really dramatic, but I really like the tufts of grass (especially in No. 2) that help provide scale and define the water surface. Great composition!

#2 for sure, Marc. It's funny, before I saw who's it was, I said to myself, "it looks like something Marc would shoot."

Excellent comp.

#2 for me. Very strong and clean compo from the mess that's there :)

It has to be Number #2 for me as well - I love how the clouds come down in a nice pattern indicating a huge downpour - another great B & W conversion
