Mushroom Rock experiment
We camped near Mushroom Rock State Park over the holiday weekend, so I made a couple forays out to it. However, I didn't get many decent shots due to weather, operator error or bad luck. This pic is an attempt to salvage one of the pics. This was taken just before sunrise, with a dense fog blanketing everything. What do you think of the attempt? Thanks for looking.

Mushroom Rock is certainly an interesting geographic feature. I like the setting overall and the fog adds a nice moody element. There appears to be some camera shake due to hand-holding and separating the Mushroom Rock from the bg trees (if possible) would have made this cleaner.

It never ceases to amaze me how people seem compelled to degrade / deface our natural world to promote their own inadequacies.

I too enjoy the mood of the shot and the toning, and I agee about the background tree. I like the foreground/background relationship between the mushroom rock and the boulder, but the half-hidden small tree seems out of place to me. I wonder if you could have found an angle where you could have isolated the mushroom rock, i.e., could have had just rock, earth, and sky in the picture in order to emphasize its primordial nature.
