Avocets attac on Grey Heron no. 1

A little sequence of an amazing spectacle I watched from a hide in Holland.
About 5 pairs of Avocets seemingly were making a nesting colony right in front of a public hide and a heron was there minding his own bussines. Suddenly he was attacked by quite a few of the Avocets with more coming to help. I presume the Heron would be a thread to their chicks if they were to have any.
The Heron stood his ground for a while but seemed utterly taken aback.

I love the fact that ALL the Avocets in the shot are looking at the Heron.And i really love that one in the BG flying in to give his/her support.

Great Capture. It is well known that Avocets will do anything to protect nesting area and young. They are a real bully bird!!
