Composition is nice, but you need to bump up the brights a bit.

I agree with all that's been said. I love the flow at the bottom left of the pic, but something about the bottom right throws things off for me. It just seems to unbalance things a bit. The branch of leaves coming from the right about 2/3rds of the way up on the right seem a bit oversaturated on my monitor, and attract a lot of attention. The compo is quite pleasing though. I've gotta follow your lead and get out and give this type of shot a try someday soon.

Darren,
Great composition, nice flow to it. I agree about the highlights, but that is a easy fix.

The bottom right does seem to throw thing of a bit, but not sure what to do about.

I would like suggesting maybe cropping the whole foreground white water out. I know it ruins your original composition. I feel it may have more mood that way. What do you think?

I think your composition works, as is, Darren. I like the emphasis on the foreground, and tweaking the highlights will only strengthen this element. You might consider burning the bank of sword fern in the background, along the upper margin, to further emphasize the foreground in the image.

I like the comp. The lower right corner presents a surprise to the viewer and creates tension between it and the relative calm of the rest of the scene. Makes me wonder where you were standing to get this shot. Wondering about the danger factor.
