I was desperate to try out my latest lump of glass today (do lumps come any bigger??) but was greeted this morning with dire light.

I must have spent 3 hours playing hide and seek with a pair of Whitethroats who steadfastly refused to show themselves clearly - and trying to find them in a 1100mm + FoV did my head in :frown: :frown:

This is one of the better ones with no OoF wort stems crossing the birds face.

So I appologise for the OoF FG items - couldn't help it!

Techs
D2Xs
Sigmonster @750mm
ISO400
1/750th @ f8
+1/3EV

PP CapOne + CS2

Thanks for looking :toast: :toast:

The Sigmonster, i think thats bigger than my 500(in actual size) .Hope you got a strong tri-pod for it.Or arms like "Arnie" to hold it

This is a very nice shot with cracking detail.I like the FG stuff as it all adds to acompany what action he's doing.

Wow, some arsenal you have now. How come you're not using the zoom to locate? You know find at 300mm and zoom in?
Great shot, very sweet pose.

Hi Tim - light was that low I was having to use manual focus - on auto it was just hunting like crazy (why don't Sigma fit this lens with a range limiter??).
So left hand was constantly adjusting focus and I was only getting split seconds to take the shots - if I tried zooming, by the time I got what I wanted the bird had moved - hence it was doing my head in!!! So it was just putup and shutup at 800mm:smile:
Until you see a Sigmonster in the flesh so to speak you wouldn't believe how big and front-end heavy it is - it's a real leviathon - no good at all at Bempton Tim - the cliffs would give way
