From the archives. This shot represents one of the last "better" shots before the time for Netta's arrival and the countdown for the surgery (which, we were told at that time, would happen the day of birth). Combine this with a sudden change in job and a new camera and it was a pretty stressful time.
It was a fun, spritzy, rainy day at Silver Falls Park with Rick. I'm struggling to remember which falls this is, but I do remember having fun slipping down the embankment, tip-toeing across the stream here (about a foot deep) and trying my best to keep myself dry (which I somehow did). It was a great vantage point that I had hoped for.
Anyways, it's here since I hadn't posted it before, and to complete the end of that chapter in my life and to make ready for the new images afterwards.
Tell me what you think. One wish I have is to remove those branches at the top...

Awesome composition, Kevin. I haven't seen anything like it from here. A slight mist effect adds to the background.

That's a wall hanger image, Kevin. I keep looking at it over and over... And good scrambling skills to get down to this level without getting muddy and wet. Everything in this image contributes to the sense of depth and it flows perfectly from the nearby ferns in the bottom left to the falls in the top right.
Kevin,
I remember when you and my brother went down there. It was a rainy day so I didn't have to much confidence you guys would come back with any good shots. Boy was I wrong. This is excellent.
Great image! I really like the comp - the FG and the BG are both very strong. The colours are amazing and the exposure seems to convey both moody (BG) and pleasent emotions. Nice work.
