I wonder if this is the first ever image of mating wool carder bees taken with a Foveon image sensor? It would be nice to achieve a world first in something.
The male Wool Carder Bee Anthidium manicatum made its first appearance today; the females a couple of days ago. The Purple Toadflax Linaria purpurea, a primary forage plant for the WCB, has been in flower for two or three weeks. The larger male waits around until a female appears then it is Wham, Bam, Thank You Ma'am in about six seconds.
Not much time to aim and focus.

Now that is a incredible timed shot. The foveon is potentially the best quality imaging sensor out there but the bodies have not been known for their speed or field usability. This shot proves it can be done.
If it's not a first it should be amoung the best.
