On our way back from Sugar Hill today, we swung by Kettle Pond in Groton SP and I found two of these white ladyslippers. These are the first I've found.

Jim,
Thanks!
The lupines were great. We got there early today and it was raining and foggy, but I liked what we got. If you wait much longer, you will have seed pods. I saw some in the big fields where they get a lot of sun already seeding out on the bottoms. I'll post some tomorrow.
I have to warn you, I found a tick in the car on the way home!
Thanks Michelle, I'll go tomorrow...and hope it clears sometime Wednesday morning for some sunrise shots!
Ticks...yeah, yuck. I hiked Iron Mountain in Jackson today, and had more ticks on me today than you would like to know, tis the season. A thorough check in an ice cold river after a hike usually does the trick for me!
This is great!! I agree with Jim the the DoF is wonderfull to get most of the flower and leaves in focus and still blur the BG. . and the exposure seems right on. One thing you might want to experiment with depending on you preferences ( I like to see details ) is maybe play with the contrast a bit and try a slightly high contrast. That might help bring out the veins in the flower a bit more without disturbing the white? Then again I am looking at this with my laptop and that is not my most reliable screen so maybe you should ignore the above!!
Great find and a well executed shot

Beautiful Presentation, and great DOF to get everything on the orchid in focus. Great handling on the whites as well...
How were the lupines, report depending, I'm thinking of heading over there tomorrow night!
Thanks!
