Hallo all. I am a nature photographer from South Africa. I have been on this great site now for 3 weeks. I have 5 photos as a trail in my portfolio. I have only gotten 6 views on those 5 photos. Is that the norm here or am I doing some thing wrong? When I do a search none of my images appear. Why is that? The forum discussions are excellent and I have learned alot from them already. Any suggestions will be appreciated as I must decide whether to continue with my subscription here. My main motivation for joining were to interact with other nature photographers and have my work viewed to get honest critique and up to now I have failed dismally in this. Any help or suggestions will be truly appreciated.

Marie,

first, welcome to NPN. Regarding your questions, where are your portfolio images located? I didn't find you listed on the PhotoPortfolio site, and don't see any images from you in the main critique galleries. If by "my portfolio", you're referring to the PhotoPortfolio site, that site is simply an online portfolio for viewing and doesn't offer any mechanism for providing comments or feedback.

The best way to get interaction and critiques is to post your work in the appropriate critique gallery - Flora, Fauna, ES&S, etc . I'm sure you will receive many more views and plenty of comments.

Cheers!

Hey Marie it's good to see you here!! Have you posted anything in the Fauna gallery yet? That would be the quickest way to get your images viewed.

Thanks for the welcome both of you. I have only posted images in the photoportfolio site. Looks like that is where I went wrong. Will post in the fauna gallery soon. Thanks for the help so far.

Welcome to NPN, Marie. I look forward to seeing your photos in the forums. One of the best ways to increase the number of views and critiques on your photos is to critique the work of others as often as you can. I set a rule for myself that each time I post a photo I'll critique at least 5 other photos.

Again, welcome to the group!

Marie, enjoyed your images very much. Especially "Mopanie Sunset" and "Morning Has Broken."

Welcome Marie. Good advice so far. If you post and comment in the forums, it's a good way to get to know you and what you like to shoot and leads people to view your porfolio. So be sure to put more of your best work in your portfolio. Do stay and show us more! :wavey:
