I think there might be too much going on with this image with the two small waterfalls on the left. Cropping out some of the forground might help. Maybe a polarizer would help with some of the glare on the rocks. It is nicely processed but I do think the comp needs some adjusting. Not a bad image my any means. IMHO of course.
Hmm, but then where would the river be leading to? The two falls are the destination for the voyage I had intended to set the eyes on. The immediate foreground establishes the sense of motion greater than any other section of the water. I sacrificed the polarizer due to excessive moisture accumulation; it would have helped a bit here obviously.
I like it overall, but would've been just as happy with more waterfall & less water scene to let the eye wander upward but then have more of a place to stay (1&1/2 inches tilted upward or a wider view?).
Bryan, that's an obvious one, doh .I was reading about a specific spot within the north cascades at the time, and didn't properly rid it from my mind. NCNP does grant a better general idea on location for most on here, though.
Kevin, the sky starts directly above the tree on the right, and it wasn't conducive to photography whatsoever on that day.
Trevor, I really like this comp but the glare on the rocks hurts this one for me. If everything would have been polarized by the waterfalls, I think the image would be a lot stonger since the water wouldn't be fighting with the glare. I hear you about the moisture issues.
