Gloom and Bloom
Wanted some exercize today, so i took a hike up to Macey Lakes in the Sangres. It was purty cold this morn, a little snow on the Rainbow trail at ~9K ft! was hoping it would clear by early afternoon, but no such luck, so i took some shots of the grayness and whiteness. Took me forever to maneuver the last half mile to the lakes, trying to avoid as much of the 5 ft deep snow as possible! Here's one of the lower lake, i think this around 11,500 or thereabouts.

And here's one of the sangres on the way out (handheld between rows of barbed wire)

Amazing difference in the feel of the two shots; definitely looks bone-chilling cold in that first one. Summer in Colorado!

Macey Lakes with all that snow? That's one heckuva hike there, Stan. I'm with Rick, the difference between the two in feel is amazing.
