Hi all! We're back from our trip to PA. Had a great time hanging out with the family and friends. I was able to sneak in a couple of walks down in the woods behind my parents house for a walk down memory lane and to capture some shots.

This one was captured right at the edge of my parents property. I was dappled in sunlight so it seemed a B&W was in order.

Let me know what you think.

That's a nice image, Eric - the fern highlights are really interesting, and I like the way you've justaposed them with the juniper "fronds" in the foreground. My only suggestion would be a title that conveys this as a cultivated landscape (e.g., a garden), which I assume it is by the presence of the juniper.

Eric, I like how the ferns are pointing up and you have highlighted the tips....nicely done....now get out there with your telescope and camera and shoot the moon and mars and venus....and the asteroid that is above us till the end of this month!

I'm usually not a fan of black and white, but I love the textures and lighting in this photo.

I really like the processing, and the black and white does justice for the lighting conditions. The ferns seem to be the dominant subject in this image; with that in mind, I'd crop out a portion of the juniper, as opposed to the present-equal distribution.

Tom, the Juniper is at the edge of the yard. The ferns are in the forest, all natural and not planted by us. I could have titled it better though. I had just been working on some other images from my trip and they all seemed to have something to do with the forest floor so that must have been fresh in my mind when I titled this. Or, I could just blame it on jet lag

Thanks all for comments.

The different levels of textures are real nice, Eric.
