Hi Folks,
During the recent torrential downpours I have been reviewing some old files. In the footsteps of Steve Bloom, I made a composite of three red squirrel images. Just wondered whether it looks realistic or not. The individual images are all good, but for some reason, when all together they made me smile and chuckle.
For the purists out there, this is a little bit of fun, I'm not about to tout it as anything other than a composite.

Hi Elliot it does not look real but it is good

Before I read your image comment above, I thought you lucky devil having 3 in the same frame. Anyways, I think it does work and it is very effective with the OOF one in BG.
Just my thoughts
Elliott I really do think you need to try harder and get this shot for real!!
I think it works well, not that you are trying to fool people but it would fool many into thinking it was real.

Hi Elliott - it's a great comp, buggered if I can see the stitch marks - but the giveaway for me is the Sqirrel on the right (I bet he's the 'real one'??) - the lighting doesn't match up with the one that comming headlong over the log to rip the camera out ya hand
But as a tech excercise it works and I envy your Photoshop patience

Hi Elliott,
Purists might pick a few nits, but it's the sort of image that'll sell well so good work for me.
A very well crafted composite, a fun and engaging image which I think could be commercially quite succesful.
cheers

Made me smile , looks like something from a fairy tale. I like the low viewpoint and I like the whole thing!

Hi Folks,
Thanks for the feedback. It was all fairly easy as the camera was on a tripod and manually focussed at the same distance, with the same aperture. So in essence, there were three identical images just with squirrels in different places. It certainly made the stitching my easier! I wasn't sure about the out of focus shot. Not sure why I ever photographed it like that. I can't remember planning a composite, but it seems to have found a home in this image.
Andy, you are right! The original frame has the squirrel on the right.
Anyway, I like this so much now, I have made another and posted them both on my Other Mammal gallery. Oh BTW, they are clearly labelled 'composite'
