excellent shot!! Were you just in Yerllowstone?? These 4 look like 4 of the 9 puppies we found... (see my post of the first: http://www.naturephotographers.net/imagecritique/ic.cgi?a=vp&pr=74699&b=mp&st=0&la=28&ph=0&sid=6647&u=6647)
I just love these little guys - burt I also got some good shots of scrapping showing all the sharp teeth to remind us these are wild animals, capable of real damage..

Simon,
Were these taken along the Self-Guided boardwalk on Black tail plateau? If it was I missed that Den by a few days because of some apparent "researchers" who got to close and caused Mom to move the pups
Love the inquisitive look the two on the right have!
Thanks to all for the overly kind comments, and for the warm returning welcome.
Dave, yes, this image was taken from the den at the 'Children's Fire Walk'. Sorry, you missed it by a day or two. Though the speculation among many was that the researchers incursion near the den site caused them to move (they were out there twice -- which caused the female to bolt), I guess we will never know for sure. My belief is that may have contributed to the move, however, I had watched them for five plus days and feel it may just have been time (they -- the orange tagged male and the yellow tagged female use this same den site every year, and it seems about a week is the duration of the stay).
Sandy, yes, I am fortunate in that I make an extended photo pilgrimage to YNP every spring and fall (sometimes winter). No, this den site was not the one just south of Gibbon Meadow (the Pika spot), however, I was lucky to photograph and spend a fair amount of time at that location also (I'll post some images) -- in fact, was there when the nine pups first emerged, and only quit the location when it became a zoo of photographers. Incidentally, if you ever want to get together in the park drop me an email.
