Sunset over the newest lake in Kansas
Cheyenne Bottoms, now being referred to by some as Lake Cheyenne, has been flooded since May. The Bottoms haven't had this much water since the early 1920s. I went out Wednesday evening for a beautiful sunset. The whole area that is under water in this pic should be fields and pasture. Who knows how long it will be until the Bottoms return to something closer to normal. Comments/critques welcomed.

Nicely done Rob, love the colors in the sky. I do like the way you have left the darker clouds at the top of the image. My attention was first caught by the objects in the center of the water on the horizon. Cool looks like the tale of a whale in Kansas. Well done and thanks for sharing! :wavey:

Great job Rob on one of our wonderful Kansas summer sunsets. The light was pretty spectacular here too but unfortunatly, I didn't have time to get out. I've really enjoyed your pictures from Cheyenne Bottoms. Last time I was there it was almost dry.

It must be interesting to have a real lake where a field used to be! Really nice image, Rob!

Thanks guys. I can't wait though for it to go down a little at least, so the roads to the interior reopen.

Beautiful sunset Rob! Should be interesting to see what develops after the level goes down...
