Grebe close up
One from today-The nest has been washed away in the recent bad weather so each parent is carrying 1 chick,With no nest to rest on the parents are looking tired and slept aloy near a reed bed, It was just a matter of waiting for them to drift my way-This one drifted abit to close for my set up but gives a good view of the chick

What an excellent shot to have in your collection.Very much like Mark's crop too.
Shame to hear about the nests being washed away.

Very nice shot. Crop-wise, I think somewhere between yours and Mark`s would be my preference - cropping just enough to remove the OOF highlights on the top edge and top left corner, whilst still leaving enough room for the Grebe`s crown feathers.

I do actually have a tighter shot but felt it may be too big in the frame

What a nice shot and an interesting post re the cropping to get the best composition from the original image.
