Unknown Falls Take Two
Sorry I didn't reply to questions in the first thread about these falls. I forgot I was going out of town the morning after I posted it. Here is another angle. The other image wasn't really a fair ID shot due to the obscure position and some serious wide-angle distortion issues.

A couple folks asked for hints. It is in southern Oregon just this side of the California border. In proximity to volcanoes it is nearly dead middle between McLaughlin and Shasta. It is probably less than five miles from my house as the crow flies, but after 20 years living in the area I only just found out about it. I don't think it is on any waterfall websites, but I could be wrong. The trail to it is nothing more than a hidden boot track and it looks like it is rarely visited by people. It also isn't as spectacular as anything on the Columbia or in Siver Falls SP...not worth a road trip in itself. Still, fun to discover right under my nose after all these years.

That's a nice one, Sean - reminds me of some of the slides hidden in the Clackamas River canyon. It looks to be a good 50-60 feet, so I'll be Bryan will add that to his list, if he hasn't already got it listed. Pretty!

way too much junk in this one....can you get up closer to it, past all the debris at the base

Well, I rescind my comment about thinking I recognized it. I don't have very much data on the Klamath Mountains - quite a bit more for the Siskiyous, but it sounds like this is east of I-5 - so my best guess would be the falls on Emigrant Creek.

Wow...that's impressive Bryan. I'm not sure if the creek is Emigrant Creek or a tributary, but it is located off of Emigrant Creek Road. It sounds like you have at least heard of this one?

Darren, you can walk right up to the base of the falls, but I'm not sure there is any place to get a really interesting composition. The creek flowing away from the pool is small and mostly hidden in the undergrowth. As you point out there is a lot of debris right below the falls. My previous post was my attempt at a shot closer in.
