Farnes Puffin
Hi to all,
Puffin , photographed on Inner Farne this afternoon , terrible conditions on both Staple and Inner Farne so we couldn't really make the most of what was on offer , but still a nice day out , thanks for looking.

Levels , Usm (150.0.5,2 x3) , S/h , slight Sat , small piece of grass cloned to the bottom left , cropped.

Canon 20D , 300mmF4IS , hand held.

Beautifull shot andrew. I had planned to go there today also but decided to cancel at the last minute. I was a little unsure as to go or not after reading the devastating reports about the damage the heavy rains had done to the birds and nests. Was it very obvious ?. Im now planning to go next week if the weather holds off.
Regards .Matt

Hi Matt,
Today being my first visit to the islands I couldn't really say if Puffin numbers were down or not , I do know that most of the problems occured on Brownsman island which you don't get to visit , there were plenty of Puffins , Shags , Kitti's and all the other spieces on both Staple and Inner Farne , if you have good weather I'm quite sure you'll have a great time , the only regrets I have were the weather and not taking the 500mm , missed out on some cracking flight shots :frown:

Kind regards

A classic shot Andy, great fish. Did you get wet in the boat? We got a soaking on the way back, so if you take your 500 make sure you can keep it dry.

A nice detailed puffin image.Perhaps losing some of the space from behind the bird would be another alternative composition. :toast:

Very attractive puffin shot, a just reward for braving the elements.

Hi to all,
Thanks for the comments , their very much appreciated.

Hi Tim,
We went out with Billy Shiels on one of his the boats with the big central cabin which protected us from the worst of the spray , regarding the 500 I'll definitely be taking it with me the next time I visit , I really missed out on some super flight shots.

Kind regards
Andy...
