D200, sigma 500mm f4.5 @f4.5 with 36mm 20mm and 12mm extension tubes stacked! ISO 400. Slight crop and the image is dynamically scaled to 23% scale by my website.

Nice shot, Paul. Funnily enough, I`ve just come back from photographing Dark Green Fritillaries with my Sigma 500mm macro lens - the lens is heavy enough itself, so I tend to leave the macro lens at home, and just take the 500mm plus extension tubes. As you say, comes in useful for everything from birds, to flowers, to frogs - and even the occasional landscape!
