Back to Film
I never realized how much shadow detail film provided until I got some old slides back from Larry who did some scanning work for me....

I have spent a good part of today going though and filtering the keepers and the tossers....

These really remind me of my early days when I was just starting to get serious about photography...

Living at the beach provided me many opportunities to capture amazing light.....

"Sunset on the Lake"

Nikon F4s
50 1.8 lens
Fuji Velvia
ISO 40 or 32 not sure which...I never shot it at 50
self processed at a lab I worked at

Thanks for looking and leaving a comment

Awesome sky. I see no shadow detail though. Also can group this into the "not enough other elements in the frame to hold interest" group. It saddens me to see sunsets like these go to waste...no offense. I have some of them too I just cant bring myself to get rid of.

Um, Rick, I was talking about the non black areas in the distance and being able to see all the ripples in the water which work with the pattern of the sky, I bumped the curves up just a tad to blacken the left side so it was not a murky color...

lots of interest here for me....since I was there taking the picture....guess it's different.

oops. Sorry :frown: . I haven't ever worked with film images on the computer. I took about 8 years off from photography prior to 5 years ago. When I came back...it was all digital. My film is still buried in a box somewhere.

Darren, Have to agree with Rick on lack of elements. Looks like lake just north of Cape Mears? My film is all in boxes also. :jump: :jump:
