For as much time as I spent at RMNP this past few months I really feel like I came away with very little. Last week I wandered over to Notchtop just to get an up-close look at the south face. I was pleasantly surprised by a small tarn directly underneath the face, and even more pleasantly surprised when a few clouds drifted over.
I usually don't care for photos taken in late morning in the park, so not sure if this one is a keeper or not. I do like this look at Notchtop and can't remember seeing another like it. I'd love to see someone get a sunrise shot here as this is my last day living in Colorado.

A dramatic spot, which I think you nailed with this comp - regardless of time of day. Keeper, for sure. Good color too. The clouds certainly help too. My only nit is the rock in the lower right corner. Kinda tight. Still, a beauty.
I'll be happy to put this on my list of sunrise locations for you.

I like the ice still floating in the tarn. I gotta get up there this summer. How were the trail conditions?

Very nice! I find nothing to knock, it's good throughout.

Beautiful shot! Nice clouds and looming perspective of the rock face. I'd keep it!
Leaving Colorado? Hope it wasn't something we said! Seriously, good luck where ever you're going. I'm sure you hate leaving.
Great shot David! That is a perspective that I have never taken notice of.

Thanks for the comments guys. Trail conditions north of Bear Lake towards Notchtop were still snowy (a snowcave we used in January was still somewhat intact) but very walkable. I'll count on you guys to make me homesick for Colorado and the Utah desert.

Definitely a keeper in my book. Great comp, good angle, and good clouds. Take care in your travels.

I think I'll head up there next weekend, not to take this picture, but to take the picture of the 12 or so RMNP'ers racing to find your tripod holes!
