OK - so I've been researching the purchase of a new computer and after deciding to return to Apple after 14 years away, I win an award for work in my profession - guess what - a MacBook Pro with 2 gigs of RAM.

So now my computer question is taken care of - but I'm pretty sure I want to use an external monitor for my photoshop work. Any suggestions - up to $800 or so?

Thanks Mark - do you have experience with this monitor?

I just took it out of the box about four hours ago. So far, it's dang nice. I'm about ready to see how it compares to my printer right now. My old monitor was calibrated but it was a CRT. This is my first LCD.

James, well, it seems that all I needed to do was to stick my SpyderPro onto the screen and let it calibrate the monitor. It changed it a little and it matches my prints exactly. For me, I'd have to give it a big thumbs up. It's beautiful to look at, doesn't flicker and nice and bright.
I'm all over it.
