I was just at Sportsman's Warehouse today and my wife pointed out a clamp-on umbrella designed for those outdoor folding chairs. The clamp works on my smaller tripod (may not work on the larger ones - I'll try later) and holds a 3'5" diameter umbrella to shield the camera. The shaft is adjustable, too. Comes in a small carry-sack.
But that's not all. The inside of the umbrella is SILVERED! Guess what that could be used for...?
Now we come to the price...would you believe $6.99?

Hmm, I'm heading down there for some other stuff, I'll have to check it out!
Thanks!
Good find Ken. Actually, Darren K and I picked up a couple similar ones two falls ago at the Wal-Mart in Ridgeway for like $6. However, I like the sounds of yours better, that silver reflector could come in darn handy!

I asked Darren about his a while back, and he mentioned Wal-Mart. I've been able to find them at the Wal-Mart near my house, but they are just normal umbrella material. Can't seem to locate the fancy ones you guys found.

Yeah, I was looking at the right spot. Right next to the beach chairs, with the adjustable clamps on the bottom. Looked great, except that it didn't have the silver on the bottom. Just regular umbrella material. They only had a couple in stock, maybe I'll check back another time to see if other colors have different materials.
