Valley Prehistoric
Here's another image I never processed, but I kinda liked the way the valley feels like there is some mystery in there...

This is very sweet. Nice contrast of the warm and foreboding. Certainly one of my favorites of your work.

Very well done, Rick. I like the valley floor fog and the 1st light.... really sweet.

You KINDA liked it? This is fricking sweet! And I thought of that word before seeing the two posts above me...

That was a friken sweet ( ) morning wasn't it. I'll have to dig one of mine up from then. Oh yeah, nice shot, great light.

Beautiful, Rick - where is this? The forest detail and colors on that front slope are gorgeous, plus the clouds, of course. Nice!

If you "kinda" like this one, I'm worried about your comments on my photos. Very well done.

Thanks for the comments ya'll. Tom...Mt St Helens is just out of the frame to the right of this image. Check my ESS pano I posted last night to see it in relation to this close up...

Rick,
Like Mark, I got this same shot this fall morning when we were there. I have gone over it time and time again and decided never to do anything with it. I think maybe this shot will make me go back over my shots again.

Wow - I never would have guessed that, Rick! I need to spend more time up there. To be honest, I've had a hard time visiting St. Helens since the '80 eruption, but now that it's recovering, it's getting a little easier to forget what was lost.

Tom,
One visit in July with the wildflowers, or a hike in full Autumn color will get you over that hesitant feeling!

Wow, what were y'all smokin?

Seriously though, it must've been great to see all of that from above. Taken at the perfect time of day. Thanks for the view.

I'm going to ride the Ape Canyon, Smith Creek Trail on the 7th. Ape Canyon/The Plains of Abraham should be at peak flowers. It ought to be epic. If any of you want to photo mountain flowers the next month out there ought to be it. Email me for directions.
