It was so very cold; minus 22, whilst waiting in the forest and hoping the bison would appear, they did but not very close.
Marvellous site to see these great animals roam free and wild.

Now thats something you don't see everyday! I didn't realise there still where wild bison in Europe... we have hope yet.
I love the light brown on their coats and, given the snow, you have handled the exposure really well. Pano crop works, it's just a bit of a pity they didn't seperate RHS to get a bit of blank space on the RHS.

It is great to see that such animals are still to be found in Europe. It does give a glimmer of hope for the future of our wildlife. Really great subjects complemented by an atmospheric BG. I agree it would have been nice for some space on the RHS. Very nice.
hi paula,
lovely image, agree re space on RHS, but love the exposure as it gives the jump on those colours in the dull light.
i remember seeing a programme about these animals some 15 years ago, and that this forest is the last remaining part of one that covered most of europe a long time ago (when
tim was a boy) good to know it's still there.
would like to know who you made the trip with.

Only nit has already been covered Paula - other than that it's a great image and the pano works a treat
Well there you go, I'm another who knew nothing of these, I like the shape of their noses look like little monkey faces. Very atmospheric, wouldn't like to put up a tripod at -22.
Hi Paula,
Sounds like you had some pretty cold conditions to endure but judging from the results and variety of species you've managed to see and photograph it was well worth the effort.
Another fine image in an appealing setting.Love the way they're all looking towards you.
