Drove up to the Snowy Range in southern Wyoming last week. I had never been to that area and had heard some good things about it here and on other messages boards. Since it was my first time there, it was basically a scouting trip. Really scenic drive. Explored a ghost town and some old mine works as well. This shot of the outlet for Marie Lake was the best I came away with. Really wanna return and spend a weekend poking around.

Sounds like a very fun trip. Great shot. I like the comp and the motion of the water.

Nice comp! I like the curvaceous river. There seems to be a yellow cast on my monitor though.

Jack I purposely warmed this shot up a little. Does it look overdone?

Color cast looks a tiny bit yellow, but close enough. Very nice shot. My only nit is that those rocks lining the creek have a very man-placed look to them, which I think they were. I think 1 out of 1,000 people would even notice that, and fewer still would be bothered by it.

Love the comp, Doug - quite a beautiful scene. It is a little too yellow for my tastes. If you're going for very warm, you could try backing off the yellow just a bit, and adding a touch of red or magenta?

I've really come to love the Snowy Range. It's worth leaving Colorado for (just an hour's worth). I can't think of another long stretch of highway-accessible timberline trails among glacier-carved peaks and alpine lakes. It's generally flat and wide-open, accesible as Rabbit Ears, but with more peaks and landmarks. The radiant white granite reminds me of the Sierra Nevada. Because it's Wyoming, it's relatively uncrowded. But because it's Frontier Days weekend, I won't tackle the I-25 traffic to go up there this weekend.
