My first time to the Mt. Baker area. Hard to believe I've lived in WA all my life and never been before yesterday.
Anyway, here goes... I know there's motion blur in this, doggone it. But I'd like to know, re: the landscape/comp aspect, if there's anything good about this... And please be sure to pipe up on all the rest. Remember, my goal is to make better landscape photos.
Thanks, all.

Cathrine, I think this area has potential,
is there a way you could have got to the other side of the tree on the left and shot it more directly....
Thanks, Darren. No, this was the only opportunity, and at that I was hanging my rig over a fence and trying (and failing) to keep it steady enough. I put the tree in there on purpose for a couple of reasons: 1) to add depth, 2) to contrast the straight edge with curves in the water flow, round rocks, the river's c-curve. Didn't work, huh?
I have other comps from here that I'll post later.
Too bad for that tree. It's just cutting too much of the falls off. Like Darren said, it sure looks like it has pontential.

Hi Catherine,
Using the tree as a border is interesting, but for me it creates a lot of tension in this image -- maybe because it's stradling the border. But I like the idea of a vertical stream shot from such a steep perspective. It's also a little flat on my monitor - could use a bit more saturation to pull out the yellows and greens on the rocks.
I have a friend who looked at this and loved it; saw everything the way I did, including the tree. She said her husband instantly did not like the tree. Hmmmmm....
People are also telling me that it's coming across a little dull. I can't seem to get the look from CS3 yet that I could from CS. Hmmmmm....
