It's been downright hot here in Moab. I'm finally getting around to processing photos from almost a month ago and this one just seemed to describe the current temps.
Light is reflecting off the ground onto the sandstone, giving it the rich glow you see here. This particular wall contained no less than a dozen "faces" carved into the soft sandstone by hundreds of years of weather and erosion. They all seemed to be screaming in unison at the suffocating heat.
I ran across a similar "Scream" in Little Wild Horse Canyon a few years ago, and for some reason didn't even take a snap shot of it! The last few times I've been in there, I've tried to find it again, but no luck!!

Brent: You'll just have to keep going back until you find it again. Darn!
Don: I thought of "The Scream" as soon as I saw it.

Interesting. Pretty sure I would have walked right past this and not even thought about snaping a few pics of it. Thats what I like about this place, seeing familiar places through other folks eye.
Todd: I actually am kind of an art buff. I like some rather obscure stuff and much of the classic work, too. Never thought about how close the two names were. Good call!

Classical paintings aside, this would be a neat shot even if it didn't look like "The Scream."
