tornado damage
Not meant for critique, just thought these were interesting shots of the swath of damage caused by the tornado that dropped down north of Woodland Park a couple days ago--i went up there this afternoon to take some photos. It touched down right on the edge of the Hayman burn scar, was a bout a mile long and 200 yds wide; winds between 70-100 mph. Fortunately missed any residences.

pretty much every tree was knocked down where it first touched down

the forest road that the tornado seemed to follow.

I saw an aerial of the path of destruction on the news. Pretty freaky! And then yesterday there was a funnel cloud over Wet Mtn. Valley? Wow, wild stuff! One viewer shot of it on KRDO (I think) had the funnel cloud dipping down, looking like it was pointing right at Humboldt Peak. I'd have liked to get that shot!

What an unlikely spot for a tornado to touch down. That area sure is getting a lot of grief. Wonder what they'll do with all the timber? Thanks for the shots Stan.

This was weird. The news said there have only been 5 tornados in Teller County.... ever. It is good that nobody was hurt in this incident.
