Gannets in love
Thank god for the thick fog that morning. It gives the shot that much extra mood. At least that's my opinion :D These Gannets seem to fall in love in the middle of another 1000 gannets. It makes you think. They all behave like each other, look like each other and smell like each other. How do they find each other. Well, I think we will never find out.
Hope you like it.

Really beautiful shot as ever Edwin, very moody as you said. Was this taken at Bass Rock?

Regards Chris.

Thanks Chris,
Indeed this was taken at Bass Rock. We had some trouble getting of the boat but it was well worth the danger

all the best,

Looks like a dirty weekend to me

Amazing how they find their way back to the exact nesting site every year and are paired for life.

You never know the gannets may look at us and think how do they make their way home every day and how do they recognise each other.

Beautiful shot Edwin :toast: :toast: :toast:

Are you not tempted to put some CW rotation in - I know I would be :wavey:

Love the photo Edwin but I'm not sure about your taste in frames  (just find it competes with the image a bit too much)

Great shot Edwin and atmospherics. Have to agree about the frame situation,
but its all amatter of personal taste. :toast:

i do like these birds, though never seen one in the flesh, they remind me of our boobies in ecuador.

Nice exposure and pose of your birds. They are so photogenic.
Not too sure about your frame either, but that is minor and sorry, but for me the shot is a bit less attractive because of the dirt on the bird on the righthand side. Nothing much you could do about that though.
