I found this digital capture image lurking in my files, so I worked it up in PS a bit. It was made last October after a stormy period, and the mountains were looking their very best.

Your thoughts are always appreciated.

I know I haven't been too active around our place here: I've just been swamped with stuff lately. Hopefully, things will mellow out soon. I hope you enjoy the photo!

Happy Trails to All,

very pretty scene Preston. snow looks beautiful at any time of the year. The only thing I found distracting was the yellow flowers in front seem to be cut off at an awkward place.

As always Preston, the shots from the eastern side become a true draw and calling card as seen here. You must have caught this just right with the snow level last year as we know it was pretty weak throughout the range compared to a lot of the years. I'm looking forward to skipping over the summer already and moving to fall as quickly as possible. Thanks for sharing this very inviting shot from this wonderful area. :wavey:

Looks to me like you just cut off the ugly part of the bushes and gave the Mtn. some breathing room :jump:
Mountains DO like room for that.....
The small bushes make my eye do a diagonal towards the tree then the Snow covered Mountain.
I wonder what a few steps to the right would have produced?
BUT, you were there and I trust YOUR eye:toast:
Thanks also for taking me visually back there....
Although mentally I have been on the Eastern side all morning ...
Planning a workshop in Oct inside the buildings in Bodie for 3 days that I am assisting.
We have only 4 spots left (Oct 10-12) if anyone is interested and could stay for the Fall colors too
Hope to spend the better part of the month over there....
but with the NO snowpack this year...I AM wondering how it will
effect the Fall colors..other than being Early?
Happy to see you back Preston and hope the swamp was friendly?

In gratitude,
Nelcha

Hi All: Thanks for the comments. I thought of including the whole of the bushes, but there was nothing but cow-trampled dirt, and pasture patties. I also thought of including more on the right but there were tire tracks in the foreground and a big black shadow on the rock buttress on the right.

I posted this mainly, because, like most of us, I am homesick for the East Side. I can hardly wait 'till Fall!

Preston,

Nice to see an image from you! Of course I'm one to talk; been rather silent myself.

The first thing that came to my mind was "vibrant." This is so crisp, clear and the colors are exactly how I think I would have seen this if I was standing there. There are many elements to enjoy here and just having the tops of the Rabbit Brush don't bother me. I really like the dead snag against the brown hills and the snow-laced mountains and dead-blue sky are wonderful.

Another Eastern Sierra beauty!

Like you, and many others, I'm "homesick" for the East side too!

Beautiful image, Preston. October will be here before you know it, I'm ready. :jump:
