I got up very early this morning to take pictures and was on my way to somewhere when I spotted the ponds on the grounds Das Duchman Essenhaus in Middlebury. It was a very cool night and steam was just rising from the warm water, creating a lovely foglike effect. The sun was rising, so I hurried found a spot to park and began shooting whatever was available in the lovely fog and light.
It was kind of a first for me. I'm not much of a crack of dawn kind of person, but maybe I need to change that. . .
Dave, Both are lovely tranquil scenes. I really like the colors in the first one. I'm a little distracted by the dark areas in the upper and lower left. They pull my eye away from main part of the image.
I agree with Chuck on the first one. I really like the colors but I think it would be improved by lighting the darker areas. The more I look at the second shot the more I like the tranquility.
Sweet - you gotta love early morning fog/light! I like them both, with a preference for the second!

Both are wonderful images. The first I do wish the upper left dark area wasn't present though. The colors are excellent for sure. My preference would go to the second, because I tend to favor these types of images more so than the colorful ones.
