Mating Soldier Beetles
Hi to all,
Mating Soldier Beetles on a thistle head , photographed at Potteric last sunday morning , first outing with the Sigma 150/2.8 and I have to say I'm quite impressed.
Any thoughts on the comp would be appreciated.

Levels , Usm (150,0.2,2 x4) , S/h , cropped

Canon 20D , Sigma 150/2.8 , 055ProB/488RC4 , r/r
1/5th @ F11 iso200 E/c-1/3 jpeg

All comments welcome

Kind regards
Andy...

Hi Andy,
Great purchase, I really like the Sigma 150mm, you just need to use the focus limit switch to get the best out of it otherwise it can hunt somewhat.
Nice bugs, although comp a bit unbalanced.

Hi Andrew. Lovely comp and great depth of field. nice punch colours too. I might be wrong, but I think these are sailor beetles. Similar but more orange. :toast: :toast:

Lovely image, and unusual - it makes me want to get out and do some macro.
