Until I use more than 10% of what CS3 offers, I don't think I'll need additional confusion. I wish Adobe would work out the bugs in one product before offering another!
I went with Design Premium. I've been enjoying the following versions of the software included:
Photoshop CS3 Extended - I Upgraded All The Way From PS Elements 3.0 And Had A Work Project That Actually Used the Measurement Tools Once - Version
In Design CS3 - I Used To Work With Microsoft Publisher To Make Homemade Calendars For Gifts And Intend To Publish A Book Someday - Version
Illustrator CS3 - Not Quite Sure How I'll Use This Program But I'm Glad I Have It Anyway - Version
Dreamweaver CS3 - Plan On Developing A Website On My Own This Coming Winter While Learning Yet Another Software Program Completely On My Own - Version
Flash CS3 Professional - Don't Know Much About It But I Believe It Is The Motion Graphics Of Really Cool Websites And I'm Glad I've Now Got the Professional Version Because The Standard Version Probably Wouldn't Have Hacked It Anyway - Version
Acrobat CS3 Professional - I Guess It's Important To Have Potentially For Publishing And I Guess I Can Do Really Cool Stuff To PDF's I Download - Version
Not to mention all of the other cool add-ons including Bridge CS3 - I Can View And Sort Images Any Conceivable Way - Version
I stay away from suites now - I bought a very expensive suite a couple of years ago in which I now only require one item of software (Flash). Once in a suite you are locked into the suite upgrades which are far more expensive than single products. Ok if you always need the software but very expensive if in future you don't have any use for all those programs but need to keep one up-to-date.
As for Photoshop I'm sticking with CS2 as it is more than capable of anything I will probably ever need it to do.
Oh, relax. We're just on the verge of something great. This insane build up of editions is just an unpleasant stop on the way to a feature cafeteria, where you buy only what you want and a core Photoshop digestive system excretes it as the perfect "thing."
