Hi all

Spent an evening with my local swallow family today - the youngsters being very photographer friendly (unlike the adults!).
Canon 1d Mark II at 400mm f7.1 1/250ish

Calibration question-

Now, this image looks punchy and nicely saturated on my desktop but when I view it on my laptop it looks flat and washed out - would be grateful if you guys could let me know how it appears on your monitors.

Regards

Simon

Hi Simon - looks a bit 'subdued' on my CRT which is calibrated, but isn't this shot into the sun anyway - the lighting on the swallow would indicate the sun was more to your front than your back - if this is right then the pic looks as I'd expect it to!

Nice image either way :toast:

Hello Simon
Looks like it needs significantly more contrast on my TFT monitors.
Best wishes

It looks subdued and needs more contrast on my Eizo (which is calibrated).

Excellent the way you have managed to get the swallow to look back nearly parrellel with the wire.

Nicely done.... definately needs more contrast on my calibrated and profiled LaCie, looks to be a touch of flare...... but should be easy enough to cure...

Thanks for everyone's input - looks like I need to redo the settings om my desktop monitor. I had calibrated it to match the prints that I get done by Photobox, but I guess they must add some contrast during the print process.

Cheers
