Tri-colored Heron & Eggs
I haven't had much to post lately. Here is one from the archives that I never messed with. Not a "wow" shot, but I think I nice nature record.

Taken in Florida last April.

Good shot Ryan, I just wish the branches were not in front of him/her

Beautiful bird, Ryan. I don't mind the brances, but the image seems a bit soft which is a shame. I wish the bird felt like it was in solid focus..... still very nice.

It is a bit soft. This image may have been taken handheld. This was before I had my L lens with IS. You can see I'm a bit desperate to do some photo work...my wife has been working more and Emmie isn't quite ready to go on photo adventures.

I live in south Florida and a whole bunch of Tri's hatched not too long ago. They are learning to fly now...bickering with each other all the time...lots of fun to watch.

But I have never seen one of the nests or eggs before. Thanks, Ryan.

Really nice shot of a beautiful bird, Ryan! I was in Florida 2 months ago and saw these herons but never got close to them as you have and definitely didn't see one on the nest!

I don't mind the branches. It is a tiny bit soft but not overly so as it can still be appreciated.

Hey this is a cool shot - screw the branches and all that. Could've been a bit sharper but for that it's really nice. You don't get to see a Tri colored heron with her eggs often.

Great shot, Ryan - the twigs don't bother me at all, In fact, they add context and a nice bayou feel.

Ryan,
This is a great shot. I don't mind the branches, either. In fact, the proximity of the branches to the Heron's legs reminds me how much they look like branches themselves. These are beautiful and skittish birds. What luck to have found and gotten close to the nest like this!
