Sparrowhawk stealing Black Tern Chick
Hi guys,

Sometimes you just got to be at the right place at the right time! This was certainly the case when i heard the Black Terns from my local colony shouting out loud because this Sparrowhawk kidnapped one of the chicks. Mother Black Tern went into pursuit but the Sparrowhawk got away anyway..

Greetings,

Jeroen Stel

Marvellous shot, Jeroen. You did very well to get it. The shot tells a dramatic story and the composition, sharpnes and exposure are all top notch. On my monitor there seems to be a slight green colourcast on the sparrowhawks wings perhaps, and easily cured if it is the case.

Hi Guys,

Thanks for your comments!
The green cast in the wings might be reflected green reed from the Stern territory.

Greetings,

Jeroen Stel

Cracking stuff indeed - never believed in luck as you make your own when it comes to this sort of stuff - and you need the skill to make the most of it as you have here.
