I have photographed quite a bit in Oklahoma but it's mostly been in the eastern and western parts of the state. I'm not sure how large an area you will have to explore. Lake Thunderbird state park is not too far from Shawnee. West of Oklahoma City is Red Rock state park. In the northern part of Oklahoma City itself, there is Martin Park nature center. It's certainly not wilderness but you might be able to get some wildflowers or birds.

As you probably have heard a good deal of Oklahoma has flooding problems. This weekend I am going to Kansas for a family reunion and had planned on stopping at the Tallgrass Prairie Preserve in northern Oklahoma. But just yesterday on the news I heard that Osage county has flooded. That's where the preserve is located. I'll be in the area so I plan on checking it out in any case.

Sorry I couldn't help you out with more specifics. Maybe someone else has some info.
