Hello PNWNP-
I finally joined after browsing through here for a while and enjoying all the images and comments. Great photography throughout this site! I moved to Portland about a year and a half ago and have been overwhelmed by what all the pacific northwest has to offer. The mountains, the coast, the desert, the forests.... beautiful!! Glad to be a part of this forum!
This image is from Cape Kiwanda about a month ago. I drove down there for the day and learned that the best time for photography there is not during the summer... there were a lot of people there! I guess I should have known though. I still had a good time. I almost did not take this shot. I was rushing to try and get down closer to the ocean for the sunset and just happened to turn around. I took a few quick shots, and they are actually some of my best ones from this trip as the sunset did not materialize like I had hoped it would. In hindsight I wish I would have stuck around this location longer, but such is photography when the light is changing quickly.
5d, 17mm, 1/4 @ f/13. I believe I was using a 2 stop soft nd.
Will,
