Sunset, Sunrise
A couple from my camp in the Sangres a couple days ago. Thunderstorm dissipating over the valley. Got eaten alive by mosquitos.

And, sunrise! Dont know if i should have made a herculean effort to try to preserve info in the shadows, or if it was even possible.

Looks like prime skeeter country alright. Wish my lawn was as green as the grasses in the first shot. :toast:

Nice cloud in the first one. Where was this? I want to visit South Colony lakes, but I hate mosquitos. Thanks for posting.

Cool cloud in the first. In second, I don't mind at all the pitch black shadows... it would have been nice I think to try to include more of the lake to the take up more of the shadow space though... just an idea.

Nice shots, Stan. Colors are great in that first one. On the second, the silhouettes don't both me, but I like Jack's suggestoin - a vertical might have given a more favorable ratio of sky/water to dark area. Still, quite a nice shot as is.

Yeah, i can see how that might have helped (more lake). Momo; this was at Macey lake. I was there a couple weeks ago but couldnt get to the upper lake due to the deep snow slowing me down. This time much less snow (basically none below the lakes) and i bakpacked to ensure i made it to the upper lake. I was at south colony last week, the road is so nice now up to the creek (there are plans to close the last 2.5 miles to vehicles) I wanted to go over broken hand but the snow looked pretty dicey above the lakes.

Stan, that is definitely a pretty area. Pitch blacks don't bother me, but it helps if the sihlouette is a bit stronger.
