A few of you may know where this is at. It's in the gorge. These flowers were in bloom last week and it took a while to get them all sharp here. Sorry I haven't been around much lately to comment. Very busy this Summer! Thanks for your time.
Excellent shot throughout marc, the light wasn't too harsh here like I have seen in person and in other photos, was this overcast or early/late in the day? I have no suggestions, however, I wonder if you could add a bit more high end to the water. The flowers are understandably the brightest thing in the scene, maybe too bright?

Nice shot, Marc.. I was just thinking the same as Andy...
Ah, Monkey Flowers, yes? As if stream beds weren't gorgeous enough already. It almost looks like there's a 'flow' of sunlight coming down over the falls to spotlight the flowers.
Thanks. Obviously I needed to blend in the flowers from a separate exposure due to wind. I believe there is a resulting problem with luminosity/brightness levels though. I should bring up the other areas a bit more. I do like a little blue in the water though. I'll work on this a little more today.
Those flowers are great. Nice work on the blend but I do agree that the water should be a bit brighter.

I like this photo....regarding the questions about the darkness of the water, I do notice that the very top of the falls is close to becoming a blown out highlight. In other words, there is very little room to increase exposure. How would one go about making the water lighter without blowing out the very top of the falls? Do a blend in PS?

9 repliesThe water is a bit cyan and the overall image is dark ( I never thought I would say that )
