Ok lets try this again.
Since my photo last time seems to have suffered from random teleportation issues I've joined NPN so I can now post here instead of at my other site. I also "had" to go back down to OK since my wife left her purse at the restaurant. Therefore I now have new photos of the flood coming out of Grand Lake dam. As before the photo isn't really about beauty as much as power and speed. This is the runoff going over the last drop before it levels out, a 30'-40' drop. Before this drop there is actually a line that could be kayaked but I cannot imagine getting over this drop alive.

BTW I had accidentally picked the wrong river gauge last time with the result that it's 1/3 less water than I originally thought. A mere 90,000 cfs.

Glad to finally be able to welcome you as a CSNP member!!! It will certainly make viewing your images easier. For others that have had this type of posting issue, being a member is great, but you can also use something like a like to a Picasa web image.

That's a serious amount of water going through there! The light isn't quite as interesting, but the power that represents is kind of scary!

Amazing! All that rain had to go somewhere and it looks like it wants to get there in a hurry! Glad to have you aboard as an NPNer! Looking forward to more posts Bruce!

Nice capture Bruce! There is a real sense of the power of a lot of water here. Nice job!

Cool shot, I would like to at the hole the drop makes. The spray downstream goes very high in the air.

Gale, this is as close as I got to that hole. I was on the island between the near and far streams, looking over the edge. You can see the white through the trees where the top of the drop is. I started to work my way down into the trees at the bottom but they were underwater & there was no reason to risk it.

Bruce looks like you got closer that I would have risk. WOW hard for me to tell but looks like a 15 or 20 foot high wave hole. The power of mother nature incredible.
