White Flowers
This is a 50% crop of the original image. Since I didn't feel the original was to inspiring I played around in PS, stretching my skill a bit. I used a Gradient and adjusted the Opaque/Fill sliders to soften th bottom of the image while leaving the top three in focus. The closest to an ID for the flower is a Daisy Fleabane, not sure if that is correct though. Anyway this one is just for fun, comments always welcome and thanks for looking.

David:

It looks like you used your gradient over the entire framed image and not just on the image - was that what you wanted to do?

Tim,
I used the gradient on just the image. When I created the frame the gradient showed up there as well. Not what I intended and not sure what happened either. I kind of liked the look of the frame so left it as is. Any thoughts as to where I went wrong while I was playing around?

Without seeing your layers palette I would not know for sure but it looks like the gradient layer is above the frame layer - if you have them in layers you could simply move the frame to the top or vice-versa...

Good point I'll have to take a look at the layers and see how they are arranged.

Cool shot and technique David.

I like the image, and suspect a black frame all the way around will enhance the look even more. Nice work, David!

Nice effect David. It makes the top flowers pop.

Nice work David, thinking outside the box are you? I like your effect and placement of the "fog" but it would be worth reframing this one with the solid black mat. Good stuff!

Trying some experiments with photos that are not very inspiring at first look. Using some of the many filters in PS can make a nice change to a photo. I will need to fix the problem with the frame though. Thanks again everyone for the comments!
