Breitenbush Gorge in a light drizzle. This area is not very accessible or photogenic due to a large number of downed trees. I'm guessing last winter's rainstorm was not very kind to the forest here. The ideal composition would have probably been between 3-10 feet higher up, but it's impossible due to all the trees laying across (or partially across) the gorge.
Beautiful photograph Mike. I like the log. but then as the Lundh bro's will tell you, I'm a lover of the Northwest Mossy Log There are certain punchbowl exceptions however This one isn't very mossy, but it still works. I think they speak to the ruggedness of our landscape and weather, and it lends a primevil character to a scene that I like.
ok, sorry, the Dalmore Cigar Malt is generating babble. wonderfull colors and comp Mike. nice work.

Well Curtis, before the whiskey wears off, you should design the Curtis Knight Signature Northwest Mossy Log Photoshop Filter. With sliders for perspective, size, rotation, bark and moss coverage, etc..

Looks like a wonderful place Mike. I think you captured the beauty well.
