Another compilation to show a night scene as it would be seen by the eye, or close to it.

This has a very 3-dimensional look to it. I find this shot, and the other one, very tranquil. Probably due to the quietness of the wilderness at this time of night. I like this perspective on the mountain. Is it Broken Top?

Nice work, Rick. I love that peak! (Three Finger Jack). Excellent processing.

Very much coolness Rick. I like the realistic look. I'd love to see this in print... Tell Mark to order an extra cartridge of black ink!
I've been wanting to shoot something like this for a while, but I'm always trying to get into the sleeping bag early so I can get up for sunrise. plus all that fresh air makes me sleeeeeeeepy

I really love these night scenes with stars in them. This is sweet. The picture you linked to with the trees and the mountain really captures the essence of standing on the ground and staring up at the night sky and just imagining things. I like that one even better.
That's a really cool image, Rick - the soft illumination on the mountain, and the snow cover on the trees is really beautiful. The stars are nice, but the color in the halos is a bit distracting. Did you consider a black and white version, or possibly burning the brightest blue star in the upper left that has a particularly noticeable halo?

Though it looks really nice here, I wonder how much noise might be visible if you blow this up. (especially the trees)
