Rare and Wild
Taken last week, this is a Yellow Lady Slipper Orchid, which grows wild in isolated pockets of the Front Range. I was told by a high school biology teacher that it was endangered in Colorado, but haven't been able to verify its official status. I found this one in Pike NF a few miles west of the Broadmoor area of Colorado Springs.

Very Nice Don. I was very excited when I saw my first Calypso Orchid. Thanks for sharing this with us.

Nice Don--i much prefer the first, a bit too much space in the second.
