We are considering a trip to Texas this December. Can anyone tell me some good spots for birding? Thanks in advance.

I can't answer your question, but somebody over at the "Central States" forum (the forum that has members from Texas) most likely could. Best of luck!

Vinita, It really depends on the type of birds you're after. Aransas Pass is known for Whooping Cranes, Ibises Pelican and other shore birds. You can see migrating Peregrine Falcons and lots of shorebirds along South Padre Island. There is a gathering of Eagles (mostly Bald, but some Golden) at Lake Buchanan in the winter. A lot of northern birds winter in Texas, but I'm not familiar with other specific localities.
