Emerald Creek Cascade
more of a straight on shot than Marc's image.

I am on the fence about this one and would like and appreciate your imput, crop options, and so forth...

Thanks
Darren

To be honest, I truly like it. It has a great flow to it, definitely feel like I'm apart of it as I sit here. The colors are great too - not overdone. Looks like there is nice detail too.

Me feet still throb looking at this and the fact that we waded that day! I really like it - didn't happen to get this comp. myself.. My only wish, were it mine, would be a little bit more time in the exposure to smooth the whites a tad more.... Very good job on this.. great greens!

I rather like the composition - might crop a little bit off the bottom - but the overall feel of the image feels off. The bright areas don't look bright enough and the mid tones feel rather flat to me. Lotta potential though.

One of the best "busy" stream shots in a long time. I might crop the bottom rock as that straight edge seem unnatural to me. :jump: :jump:

I don't think it needs any cropping Darren. I really like this shot. I think what would really set it apart would be to create a vignette effect which keeps the viewer's eye in the stream bed. Just reducing the luminoscity of the UR corner could help also.

If I saw this as is, and wasn't requested to critique it, I'd like it and not think twice about it.

I did a double-take on this one, since I took a very similar shot after seeing Marc's image of this spot a couple of months ago. Mine was a horizontal view, but included the same foreground where the water splits. For some reason, I'm still not sure whether that works. I think it would work better in your view if it were cropped just below the moss line on the foreground boulder on the right, shifting the focus to the two center-stream boulders and the big log, instead of the split of the stream. I definitely like the vertical format - very nice!

This is a very fine image, which could be improved by cropping above the immediate-central rock, as to not deviate from the interest in the image.

Looks pretty good Darren! I like Tom's crop suggestion as well.

I'm back and forth on the crop idea but other than that it's dang sweet, Darren.

Thanks guys...I might play around with the crop and create several different "master" images for show and tell.....

Marc was actually standing just to my right when I took this and he took his. That is why the angles are different.....it was such a great day for shooting.....
