By the lake.....

This was taken during my recent trip to the painted hills. I was racing all over the place trying to get a good shot of the pending sunset. This is by the lake just up the road from the main view area .

Very good light on the hills, Erik.. I looked at this earlier, and contemplated your capture.. the clouds look as natural as standing there and viewing them alongside you..

Ah man! Now I wanna go to Painted Hills!

Yup, great light there and those clouds are beautiful. I just have never fully liked a comp from that lakeside. You did the best you could have here but it isn't spiking on any meter of mine...

I didn't even know there was a lake up there, Erik. Guess I'll need to go back again! I like the composition, but the color in the clouds in the left third of the sky starts to get yellow/greenish on my monitor, and is a bit distracting. The light on the rounded hill in the center is outstanding!

I would like to see a more proportional distribution of frame between lake and sky, otherwise a finely processed image with nice light.

Erik, I like what you were going for here, I just don't feel it!
